There are active psychedelic scenes across the US. Going to a psychedelic event in your area is a good way to get acquainted with what's going on near you.

Harm reduction

It's important to learn how to handle altered states responsibly.

TripSafe.org is a good place to start for classical psychedelics; RollSafe.org is good for MDMA.

DanceSafe and the Zendo Project provide care and education on at festivals. Zendo sometimes offers community trainings, so keep an eye out for those!

Community organizing

Grassroots organizing was responsible for the recent decriminalization of mushrooms in Denver, CO and of psychedelic plants in Oakland, CA.

These campaigns were driven forward by committed people in those communities. More like this is possible!

Showing up to events in your area is a good place to start. Psychedelic events can be found via Google, Facebook, and MeetUp. See also the "Community groups" section of the org directory.
